Arguably the Best Closer in the USA. Period.

Davey Johnson was mad at Tyler Moore because he made the last out of the game as a strikeout. But he couldn’t do too much about it. He was facing all-star closer Craig Kimbrel who throws his best fastballs at the whopping speed of 97 to 100 miles per hour. But he has rivals, suprisingly. The most famous is probably Cincinatti Reds’ star Aroldis Chapman and the least is probably is the Cubs’ Rafael Dolis. My favorite is Christan Garcia of the Nationals, of course. But Kimbrel is the closer to beat. But last year Fredi Gonzalez got dissapointed and Edwin Rodriguez was happy as the FLORIDA MARLINS and Omar Infante ( who isn’t really a Marlin, anyway) are still the only team who have hit a walk-off home run against Kimbrel. Nationals v. Atlanta. 8. ET on ESPN. Game Preview: Gio Gonzalez looks to be the first to 20 wins, opposing Mike Minor tonight on ESPN.

Ryan Mattheus!!!!!!!!

The Nationals lost on a error on the catcher last night. Today Adam LaRoche hit a solo home run. But the 8th inning got sticky for the Nats, despite bringing in Ryan Mattheus. But the at-bat of Andrelton Simmons made a difference. Mattheus hit him, and the Braves took a 5-4 lead. Mattheus freaked out and made a face and slapped his face with his glove. Mattheus’ error was costly, as the Nats lost 5-4. Nats News 5-4 L to ATL

Chippa last time versus the Nats?

If this is the best season in the world, raise your hand. Between the two teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals, fans of the AL West have turned their televisions on to see these ball clubs face off. But this could be the last series they face off. If the Braves start to stink, they will fall out of the Wild Card and a team like the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Pittsburgh Pirates will happily take the Braves’ spot. But the Nationals need only 11 wins or the Braves need to lose 11 games for the Nationals to clinch the division. The Mets, Marlins, and Phillies are hitting the gas pedal this year. But look! MLB Network will be showing Friday’s 7:35 game, on Saturday it’s at 7:10, and on Sunday, the probable last Nats- Braves game is at 1:35. Maybe they should wear their blue uniforms on the road more often

On holidays like Labor Day, the Fourth of July, and 9/11, the Nationals wear a navy blue uniform with the curly W covered in the stars and stripes. Last night the New York Mets celebrated the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. They hosted the Washington Nationals ( in their blue uniforms, of course). So in the top of the 1st inning…

  • Ryan Zimmerman hit into a sac fly that scored Jayson Werth.
  • In the bottom of the 5th inning, Daniel Murphy doubled and scored Ruben Tejada.
  • Later in the inning, David Wright singled and scored Murphy.
  • Off R.A. Dickey in the top of the 7th, Tyler Moore hit his 9th big fly of 2012.
  • With Frankie Francisco on the bump, Kurt Suzuki singles and scored Danny Espinosa.
  • Bryce Harper singles of Josh Edgin and scoring the RBI is Suzuki. Eury Perez tagged up to third, and Jayson tagged up to second.
  • Scott Hairston did what he does best against the Nats, as hitting a big fly off Clipp.

Gio Ninteeno.

Now I think Mike Rizzo made a deal when he traded 4 of his prospects to the Oakland A’s for Gio Gonzalez. He’s been as good this year as he’s been in past years. Nineteen wins. Welcome to the National League. He dominated everybody, including Armando Gallaraga with the bat. He homered of him. I even saw him get a complete game shutout against the Saint Louis Cardinals on August 31. He has definately been the pitcher of the year. For the Nats. Let’s go Gio!

9/10, 9/11, 9/12 in New York.

Welcome back New York readers! I bet you’re interested in the Mets game! Gio Gonzalez and Collin McHugh were the starting pitchers last night.

  • In the top of the second inning Kurt Suzuki hit a solo home run to left field
  • Later in the inning Ryan Zimmerman hit a 2-run home run to center field.
  • In the top of the 4th inning Ian Desmond, who was celebrating his 2 year anniversary in the big leagues, hit his 22nd homer the other way– a 2 run jack to right center.
  • In the bottom of the 4th inning Scott Hairston hit a solo jack to left center, scoring the Mets only run.

To end the game, Fred Lewis struck out swinging as Clippard shut the door and helped the Nats with their league-leading 87th curly w of the year.

Zim bobble, extra inning, jayson werth, eighty-six, curly "W"

Thumbs up to Ryan Zimmerman who got his PNC Bank bobble head on 9/8’s Nationals versus Marlins day game. On the lead off spot, Gorkys Hernandez hit a 6th pitch Solo Homer off starter Ross Detwiler and just two batters later, Giancarlo-Cruz Michael Stanton hit a rocket into the opposing bullpen in left-center field.  Then in the first three innings the Nationals were blanked by Mark Buehrle.  They got on the board when Jesus Flores tapped a solo jack into the flower bed in left field. It was like a foul ball tap. Then the bobble head person hit a two run dinger into the overhead of the left field ‘pen. Jayson Werth hit a solo homer into the Red Porch Loft, Restaurant, Bar, and Spirits in center field. Then pinch-hitter Corey Brown hit a walk-off single in the 10th 🙂 and the Nationals won. There was also a two-hour, thirty-three minute rain delay. During the delay, the Nationals were watching college football in the clubhouse.

I WAS THERE WITH MY MOM, DAD, BROTHER, SISTER, AND BABYSITTER! WE HAD TO LEAVE EARLY BECAUSE OF THE RAIN DELAY AND MY BABY SISTER WAS SCREAMING HER HEAD OFF.

Sometimes you face a good pitcher. The Nats faced Jeff Samardzjia on Labor Day. 2-1 win. The past 3 days, Dale Sveum, the Cubs’ manager sent bad pitchers. Justin Germano was on the hill last night and got crushed. In the first inning Bryce Harper hit a triple and than Ryan Zimmerman hit a comebacker to Germano and Bryce waited for Germano to throw to first and than he took off. He was safe at home, tying the game. In the 2nd inning Kurt Suzuki hit a 2 run Home Run to give the Nats a 4-2 lead. There was a benches clearing brawl and the bullpens cleared too. The Nationals complete the Four Game sweep of the Cubs and play the Marlins tonight. Nats News. CHI 2 WAS 9

FINALLY A WASHINGTON WINNING SEASON!

There has been 7 years of played Nationals baseball (that means all full seasons played), and none of them have been winning seasons. Well, we’re past Labor Day and WE FINALLY HAVE A WINNING SEASON! With 21 games left in the season, if you get more than 82 wins you get a winning season. THE NATS ARE 83-52! We are going in the play-offs, right?

If you turned on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network at 4:05 pm last night it would be a paid program. Check out MASN 2. Nope. Check out TBS. Nope. Check out ESPN. Definitely not. MLB Net. No. ABC 7 WJLA. NO. Fox 5? Yes! Feliz Fox 5! Definitely the best one. The game fell too one side on a
David Freese (Cardinals) single off the glove of star Ryan Zimmerman. The Cards won 10-9. But the Nationals were on National TV. Pretty cool.
