In past years, shortstop Derek Jeter played through injuries and never wanted to be carried off the field at Yankee Stadium. But on Saturday, he couldn’t fight off this. In the 7th inning, Jhonny Peralta hit a sharp grounder to Jeter at short and then he tripped. On some thingy that could badly hurt his knee, it appeared so. You could hear the emotions through the speaker of the TV.  The Yankee fans showed some support: chanting De-rek Je-ter! The Tiger fans clapped too, because of his major success in the Yankee playoffs. But not chanting. It was an emotional event at Yankee Stadium on Sat. Eduardo Nunez will take Jeter’s place on the postseason roster.
