The Miami Marlins weren’t done swapping players after their Trade Deadline catastrophe, sending Set-Up Man Edward Mujica to St. Louis, Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante to Motown ( Detroit), and of course, Hanley Ramirez to Los Angeles. They even fired their skipper during the off-season. They are planning on trading Mark Buehrle, John Buck, Josh Johnson, Emilio Bonafacio, and Jose Reyes to the Toronto Blue Jays for unknown Blue Jays players. The details are still being worked out. By unloading these expensive salaries, Miami would probably be interested in free agents like Ichiro, Josh Hamilton, and Delmon Young. The Marlins need hitting help badly. The Marlins can’t win the NL East until some hitting happens. Just hope Marlins fans–Edwin Encarnacion or Jose Bautista could head to Miami!
This comes as a surprise after the Marlins spent big money last winter on big names like Reyes, Bell, Buehrle, and even bigger money on a new stadium. Let’s see what happens in the remaining 138 days til Opening Day.
