The Atlanta Braves have traded no.4 starter Tommy Hanson to the Angels for relief fireballer Jordan Walden. Walden is a 100+ MPH guy and Hanson throws quality innings, so both teams got a win. Walden might be the Braves’ Henry Rodriguez because he overthrows a lot and gets crazy with his fastball.
THE MAIN PART OF THE DEAL
ACCORDING TO MLB NETWORK, THE GM OF THE WASHINGTON NATIONALS ARE NEARING A DEAL WITH 1B ADAM LAROCHE. LAROCHE WAS ON THE NATIONALS LAST YEAR AND HIT 33 HOME RUNS AND 103 RBI. LAROCHE SPOKE TO MIKE RIZZO AND DAVEY JOHNSON THIS WEEKEND AT JOHNSON’S CHARITY GOLF EVENT IN FLORIDA. MY OPINION IS THAT BRINGING BACK LAROCHE IS THE BEST OPTION FOR THE NATS, BUT IF THEY DON’T, PLATOONING MICHAEL MORSE AND TYLER MOORE AT FIRST IS STILL A GOOD OPTION.
