After being shut out by Chris Carpenter on Wednesday, Ross Detwiler looked to get a curly “W” and make a game 5. In the 2nd inning, Adam LaRoche got on a Kyle Lohse pitch and hit it fast. Fast enough and far enough to clear the batter’s eye in center field. LaRoche got to trot the bases and made a tie game. It stayed that way for a long time. Jordan Zimmermann, Tyler Clippard, and Drew Storen got 9 straight K’s out of relief. After Fernando Salas got a 1-2-3 8th, Lance Lynn was pitching in the 9th. Chad Tracy grounded out, and Werth was up. The TBS announcer said this: ” That ball is hit deep! Gone, Goodbye! To game 5 we go!”. Jayson Werth had just hitten a line drive home run, walking off, and forcing a game 5.
